Boy Scout Rail Camp

Camp out at the N.C. Transportation Museum during our twice-annual Boy Scout Rail Camp!

The camp includes two nights of camping at our 60-acre historic site and a full day of activities including a train ride and workshops to help scouts earn their Railroading Merit Badge.

Learn how to identify different types of railcars, how diesel-electric locomotives work, the importance of railroad signals, and more.

Boy Scout Rail Camp is an opportunity for scouts to interact, camping alongside each other and working together to earn their Railroading Merit Badges. The camp also includes flag raising and lowering ceremonies and a campfire program.
